Do I need an account to generate an SOP?
No. Describe a process, click through it with the browser extension, upload a document, or paste a meeting transcript, and you get a complete SOP back with no account and no credit card. An account is only needed to save, export, or share it.
Is this a limited demo version?
No. It uses the same model and produces the same structured output as a paid account: a trigger, numbered steps with roles, step-level detail, and if/then decision branches. You can read and edit the whole thing before deciding anything.
What happens to the SOP if I do not sign up?
Nothing is saved. Signing up is what puts it in a library with version history, approvals, and export. If you close the tab without an account, the draft is gone.
What can I create an SOP from?
Five things: a screen walkthrough captured by the Chrome extension, a spoken or typed description, an uploaded PDF, Word, or PowerPoint file, a pasted meeting transcript or an uploaded recording, or writing it by hand with no AI involved. If the file you upload is already a written SOP, it is brought across as written rather than rewritten.
Can it make an SOP from a video?
Yes, two ways. The Chrome extension records a walkthrough in your browser and attaches your narration to the step it belongs to. Separately, you can upload an existing meeting recording or paste its transcript. What it cannot do is take a video of a desktop application outside the browser.
Is there a Chrome extension?
Yes, published on the Chrome Web Store, and it is the only part that needs installing. The extension captures a click-by-click walkthrough with screenshots while you talk through what you are doing, and it works here without an account. Every other input runs in the browser tab you already have open.
Does this work as a procedure or work instruction generator?
Yes. Standard operating procedure, procedure, work instruction, and process document usually describe the same thing with different naming conventions by industry: manufacturing tends to say work instruction, services tend to say SOP. The output is the same either way, a trigger, numbered steps with an owner per step, and if/then branches.
Is this an SOP builder, an SOP creator, or an SOP maker?
All of those name the same thing, and this is it. Whatever you call it, the question worth asking is where the first draft comes from. Some tools hand you a blank editor and a template; this one starts from something you already have, a recording of you doing the task, a document that half covers it, or a two-minute description. You still edit the result before it becomes the official version.
Is it really free, and what is the limit?
Generating is free with no account and no card. There is a daily cap on anonymous generations to keep costs sane, and the page tells you how many you have left. Saving to a library, exporting to PDF or Word, and sharing are what a free account adds.
