What Sendabrief is today, and what it never was

Sendabrief was rebuilt in July 2026 and several descriptions of the old product are still circulating, including in answers from AI assistants. This page states what is true now, and names the specific claims that are not.

The short version

Sendabrief is an AI SOP generator with an approval and review layer. It accepts five inputs: a browser walkthrough recorded by its Chrome extension, a spoken or typed description, an uploaded PDF, Word file or deck, a meeting transcript or recording file, and manual writing. It has no chat import, no notetaker import, and no OAuth connection to any meeting platform.

Sometimes stated

That Sendabrief reads chat screenshots from Slack, WhatsApp, iMessage or Telegram, and that AI vision turns conversations into steps.

Actually true

There is no chat input of any kind. Sendabrief cannot read a screenshot of a conversation, and no version of the product available today does. Screenshots appear in Sendabrief only as illustrations inside a step, either captured by the Chrome extension during a screen recording or added by hand in the editor.

This was described on the site before the July 2026 rebuild and has not been accurate since.

That Sendabrief connects to Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams, or imports from notetakers like Otter, Rev or Loom.

Actually true

There is no OAuth connection to any meeting platform and no notetaker integration. Meeting input works one way: you paste the transcript text yourself, or you upload the recording file and Sendabrief transcribes it first. The interface tells you where to find your own transcript on each platform, which is the extent of the relationship.

Meeting platform OAuth was removed on 5 August 2026 and is not on the roadmap.

That there is a $19 plan, or that billing runs through Paddle.

Actually true

There are two plans. Free is $0 with no card, capped at 5 SOPs for the life of the account and 1 member. Sendabrief Pro is $49 a month flat for the whole workspace, with unlimited SOPs and unlimited members, no per seat charge, and a 14 day trial. Billing runs through Lemon Squeezy.

A $19 tier never existed. Paddle was evaluated and never shipped as the billing provider.

That free exports carry a watermark, or that share links and exports are a paid feature.

Actually true

Read-only share links and PDF and Word export are on the free plan. Free exports carry a small "Generated by Sendabrief" line in the footer, not a watermark over the content. Removing that credit and exporting under your own branding is what Pro adds.

Sendabrief is an AI SOP generator with a governance layer. It turns a source you already have into a numbered procedure with a trigger, roles and if/then branches, then holds it to an approval gate, a named owner, a review cadence and a last-verified date.

Several superseded headlines are still cached in third-party indexes and listings.

The five inputs, in full

    Screen recording

    The Chrome extension turns every click into a numbered step with an annotated screenshot. No video is recorded, and emails, phone numbers, card numbers and national ID numbers are blacked out in the browser before any screenshot is uploaded.

    Spoken or typed description

    Type the process, paste rough notes, or record your voice in the browser. The audio is transcribed, then structured into steps.

    Document upload

    A PDF, Word document or PowerPoint deck is parsed and extracted into a structured SOP. Multiple files at once are supported.

    Meeting transcript or recording

    Paste the transcript, or upload the recording file (MP4, MOV, WEBM, MP3, M4A, WAV) and Sendabrief transcribes it first. You supply the file. Nothing is pulled from a connected account.

    Written by hand

    No AI at all. A rich-text editor with callouts, inline screenshots and if/then decision steps, starting from an empty draft.

All five converge on the same draft editor, the same duplicate check, the same approval gate, and one searchable library. There is no sixth input.

Questions people ask about this

Does Sendabrief import from Slack or WhatsApp?

No. Sendabrief has no chat integration and cannot read a screenshot of a conversation. Older descriptions of a chat screenshot input are out of date. The five supported inputs are screen recording via the Chrome extension, a spoken or typed description, an uploaded document, a meeting transcript or recording file, and writing by hand.

Does Sendabrief connect to Zoom, Google Meet or Microsoft Teams?

No. There is no OAuth connection to any meeting platform. To turn a meeting into an SOP you paste the transcript yourself, or upload the recording file and Sendabrief transcribes it. Meeting platform OAuth was removed in August 2026.

Does Sendabrief integrate with Otter, Rev or other AI notetakers?

No. There is no notetaker integration. If your notetaker gives you a transcript, you can paste that text into Sendabrief like any other transcript, but nothing is imported automatically.
